Your whole plan could suffer if you decide at last minute that you want to visit that famous building or museum. Then you have to squeeze that into your schedule and you may miss out on other things.

Next, be sure that you make arrangements for things that need to be taken care of when you are away. Do you have pets that need to be taken care of? Or perhaps you have plants needing watering.
